dir. Hayao Miyazaki, watched january 20th, 2021

watched stoned? yes

honestly, lately I've been on a studio ghibli kick lately. I don't know why I've never let myself watch any of their films before, I guess I just never got around to it. but I find that they're real good feel-good movies, like striking fucking gold. watching their movies just makes me melt into a little weird world, where you could be forced to be a cat-girl, or you could. . .oh, jeez. the only other one I can recall right now is grave of the fireflies, and that's no walk in the park. anyways, I really enjoyed this movie. it didn't blow me out of water, like the forementioned grave of the fireflies, and I do prefer whisper of the heart, which is the last studio ghibli film I saw before this one. but I basically just needed a really good sweet film to mellow me out, and it was a wonderful choice. I love kiki, and the older sister-like cool-sorta mean girl who I imagine is just a lesbian. you know what, kiki could've also been a lesbian. I choose to live in that silly little world where everyone I cherish is a lesbian. even the damn cat.

COP:
Hey, you!
You can't jump out in the street like that!
You almost caused a big accident!
Flying around town
like that is dangerous.

KIKI:
But I'm a witch. All witches fly.
